Hello! I’m LeeAnne. I have been following Sarah for years and years since her early Caringbridge days. I live in Nebraska, practically in the center of the United States. I grew up in Denver and moved here in 1980 for adventure, met a guy, got married and the rest is history. I have two grown kids….a son and a daughter, as well as four super adorable grand kids and two grand dogs. I am an office manager for a trucking company. This April will be my 37th anniversary here. Wow! (Retirement is just around the corner!!)
And finally, we are currently getting LOTS of rain which is a huge blessing in this drought-stricken area.
    Happy Tuesday everyone!

      Lee Anne,

I love that you moved to Nebraska for adventure. Sounds like you found it in a wonderful family and career.

So glad to hear about rain after your drought. We’ve been getting way too much rain; so nice of us to send some your way. 🙂 Happy spring.

I’m Mel. I live in Sweaburg, Ontario, Canada. I was raised in the Anglican Church but am not a regular attendee. 🙂 My belief is that standing in a church makes you no more a Christian than standing in a garage makes you a car.

I have been following Becky since Caringbridge days and with her amazing writing over the years, it is hard to pick a favourite post but I did so enjoy the Wedding Wednesday posts.

I read her post yesterday before she took it down to revamp it and I say as her followers but more so her friends, we wrap our collective arms around the Smith family right now to let them know how much we care for them and about them.

  3. I’m Stefanie – I’ve been reading Becky’s blogs since I somehow “found” Sarah’s caringbridge page ages and ages ago.

I live in the suburbs of St. Louis, planning to retire back to the UK in a few years.

As for religion – I was raised Methodist, dabbled in Baptist, and am now happily atheist. I do good because I want to. 🙂

    • Becky says:

      Stefanie,

It’s always interesting to me to discover how people “found” Sarah’s CB page. A lot of people don’t even know; they just stumbled across it.

Didn’t know you were retiring back to the UK. I know you are looking forward to that!

Thanks for sharing your religious journey–I love hearing people’s stories.

    Katrina,

Dream vacation would be Austria. Second choice would be Cork, Ireland after discovering most of my DNA comes from that region. No religion, lots of spirituality. As for favorite post, there are so many I could never pick one 🙂 She is a beautiful, eloquent writer.

    • Becky says:

      Lesley,

Thank you for ongoing encouragement about my writing through the years; you definitely have the gift of building people up.

I didn’t know there WAS a Cork, Ireland. Love the name. And would LOVE to go there.

    Question to all of you:

Do you have a favorite post Becky has written?
    Which religion do you have?
Where would your dream vaccation be?

    Hope you are are well

Hi all, my name is Dale and I too have been following the Smiths for many, many years, since their Caringbridge days….I love reading Becky’s blog and on most occasions it brings tears to my eyes. I grew up a Jersey girl, then moved with my family to the Kansas City area where my kids grew up, I loved it there, we now live in NC and my husband just retired and is itching to move to Florida!!!

    • Becky says:

      Dale,

Jersey, Kansas, NC, and Florida? ALL great places to be. (But I’m slightly biased about NC)

So glad you’ve been a Smithellaneous-ite for so many years. So honored by my long-time followers.

  7. Katrina says:

    Hello all.

I am Katrina and I have been following the Smiths since 2006 when Sarah was 10 almost 11.

I live in Denmark. I am an atheist. I am 30. I am a proud Pokemon trainer aka I have been fan since I was 9 years old. I am a introvert. I love books and movies and my favorite tv series is call the midwife. I love cats and polar foxes and horses. I love the cinema and Starbucks and drink cola every day but I am not a dessert girl.

    • Becky says:

      Katrina,

It was fun to read all those interesting facts about yourself. Hooray for introverts! (Since I AM one.)

Thanks for hanging out with us for so many years!

  8. SueEllen says:

Hi! I’m SueEllen and I, too, have been following the Smith’s for years! I’m a few months older than Becky – I turned 59 in November (and 59 is not nearly as old as it seemed when I was a teenager!). I grew up in WV, spent a couple of years in NC – my favorite state, then a decade in the Atlanta area, a few in Arkansas (just across the river from Memphis, TN) and have been here in Mesquite, TX, just east of Dallas since 1997. I worked for several years in mortgage quality control and for the last eight years I’ve been a high school special education inclusion support facilitator. I’ve been married for 30 years and have three grown children. My favorite “hobby” is reading.

    • Becky says:

      Sue Ellen,

Thanks for paving the way into 59 for me. I agree; it really isn’t as old as it used to seem.

You’ve certainly lived in a lot of diverse places and done some interesting things. I’ve never heard of your current job title but I can pretty much guess what it is. I would just hate to try and fit it on a desk sign!

  9. Michele says:

Hello Ladies, I’m Michele and I’ve been following the Smith’s since Sarah’s transplant days. So happy she is well! I live in Central NY with my husband and one daughter. she’s a new PA who moved back home after grad school to save some money and pay down her student loans. I have 2 other grown daughters. One is getting married soon. I am an RN working in family practice. Nice to meet you.

    • Becky says:

      Michele,

It must be fun to have a daughter who is also in the medical field. You can talk about things and know she understands exactly what you mean.

Congrats on a marriage coming up soon. Exciting days, aren’t they?

  10. Lesley says:

    Hello Ellen,

I’m Lesley. I’m 61, and live in the DC area. I’ve been following since forever, way way back. I’m actually a New Englander (Massachusetts) but relocated here a few years ago to be closer to my adult sons and my little grands. I am a RN but have ‘retired’ to be full time caregiver of my adult daughter who has a rare degenerative genetic condition called BPAN. She lives with me. i just bought an accessible van, woohoo!!!!

Nice to meet you, I was born in Philly 🙂

    • Becky says:

      Lesley,

So glad to hear you got your accessible van. I hope that makes your comings and goings so much easier.

I love that you have been “following forever.” It probably seems like it! 🙂

  11. Ellen W says:

Well, meanwhile, anyone want to do some introductions? Let’s chat!!

I’m Ellen. I’m turning 40 this year. I’ve been following the Smiths since I was in college almost 20 years ago! I lived in my home state of Pennsylvania back then but have since moved to Raleigh where I live with my librarian husband and our adopted son. I’m a silversmith.

So, who are all of you? 🤗🤗

    • Becky says:

      Ellen,

I love your idea of having everyone chat while waiting on this discombobulated blogger to get her blogging ducks in a row. It made me smile every time I thought of you all sharing your stories here without any help from me. Thanks for the great idea.

It boggles my mind that you have been following the blog since college. (Insert twenty exclamation points here.) We can’t possibly be old enough for that, can we? 🙂

By the way, I don’t know many silversmiths. What an interesting occupation! And to be married to a librarian is wonderful.

Thanks for making Smithellaneous so much better through your comments.
