Village By The Sea

August 5, 2012

Snowy had an absolutely great weekend. We will find out from the vet today which meds to start weaning him off of and then we’ll see what happens from there.    On the other hand, I am having one of my semi annual bad back pain episodes and am trying to get this post written and get into bed before the heavy duty muscle relaxers kick in and leave me more or less incoherent. (Which actually might lead to an interesting blog!)

In keeping with the title of this post, here in old picture of Snowy by the sea.

The real “by the sea story” through is taking place on another blog called Live Fully where I am guest posting today. Here is the beginning of the post called, ‘”Village By The Sea.” To read it all, just click on the link at the end.

VILLAGE BY THE SEA

I admit it.

Sometimes I feel just a wee bit jealous of people I follow on Facebook. They live such impressively full lives. They fly to conferences in Vegas, they attend concerts at the Ryman, they go on vacation to Ireland.

They host parties that are peopled with an eclectic, elegant blend of writers and artists, movers and shakers. They hob nob with people who are accomplished in their field and it appears that even their children and their pets live breathless lives of unadulterated fascinations.

Hope things get better for you with the back pain.  Glad Snowy is doing better.  I think your life in Manteo is terrific and I would like that.  Sometimes things are just too hectic here.  My afternoon showed me once again the “best made plans of mice and men ……” as I had plans to “clean up a bit” and got a call that my aunt was in ER and needed a ride home (30 miles one way).  So–I told Mama bye, took Luci (Mama’s dog that we keep) home and then went to ER.  I was glad I could take my aunt to get her meds, get a burger and then take her home.  Her son lives in Myrtle Beach, SC, and daughter in Stafford, VA (near DC).  The daughter was on her way but could not get here in time for the ride home and the son had put his jeep in the shop this morning.  God knows what we need to do and prepares a way for us to do it.  Three hours later I was back home safely and now we’ll see if I get any “cleaning up” done.  Becky, you are fantastic!

So glad Snowy had a good weekend and hopefully, he will continue to have many more good days.  I can identify with back pain.  I have a very chronic back problem and the resolution is not a pleasant one.  So, Becky, stay where you are comfortable and I hope you feel better soon.  Becky, I would like to ask for a few prayers, please.  My daughter’s 21 year old friend is at a cancer center here in St. Louis.  She went in this weekend.  They think it is luekemia.  I am asking for all the prayers anyone can give to Hillary and that the doctors are wrong and it is not cancer but if it is, that the luekemia can be beaten back forever.  My daughter’s face broke my heart last night.  She had gone to the barn after working her other job to feed the horses and her trainer/barn manager was there and told Stephanie about Hillary.  Stephanie was up early this morning and headed to the barn to take over Hillary’s duties.  Stephanie lost her Jessica several years ago to cancer – they were horse riding buddies also.  The look on her face brought back all the fear and worry from her years of helping Jessica.  She just looked at me and said, “Mom, I hate cancer.”  Please pray for Hillary.  Thank you.
