Thank you, ladies, for being such an integral part of the Smithellaneous family! I so love hearing from you and I’m honored that you take time out of your lives to not just read Smithellaneous but also to add your voices to the conversation. You have made my day more often than you could ever know and I’m so grateful for each of you.
Here are a few fun pictures we took last night. We were playing Apples to Apples and Meagan was holding Noah; I looked across the table at them I thought, “Perfect picture opportunity!”
Is this not great?
A few minutes after that, Nathan got up with Noah and on his way past Steve, he thought it would be fun to plop Noah onto Grandpa’s shoulders.
Much merriment ensued because of course Steve had to ham it up with all manner of goofy faces.
I love it when merriment ensures.
Wow! I am so excited to be on the list! Makes my day Becky!! Reading your blog Becky has become such a nice part of my day- I always enjoy reading it, hearing your perspective, and seeing your photos. It encourages me to see how your family is so happy to be together, so content with all God has blessed you with, how deep your love and connection for each other is. I didn’t grow up with a family experience like that, and I am trying hard to create that for my daughter now even though it isn’t always very easy- and so it just is like a daily dose of encouragement to read your blog an learn from your writing. Even though we’ve never met in person, after all these years of connecting through your blog (and at times on my neglected blog) I feel like you and I have a lot in common and would probably be friends in real life. (Actually I feel like you are a friend already). I also love to see the colours of your beautiful scenery, and to see photos of sunshine and plants and the ocean, especially this time of year when the temperature is 25 below zero and we have so much snow and only about 7-8 hours of light during the day (compared to 18 plus hours of sun during the summer). So thank YOU for your wonderful blog and all the time and effort you put into it. I think it brings sunshine into a lot of peoples’ days! Oh, and it is not a big deal at all, but my last name is spelled Hoff!
Jenna,
Thanks for your sweet words about this blog and our family; I am grateful and honored to find out that you look at this blog as a place to learn. You are an inspiration to me as well, in the way you and your husband are investing into Samantha’s life. What a huge difference you will make in her life for years and years to come.
Thank you for being a regular reader here and for sharing the seasons of your life in the comments.
And yes I have always known your last name was Hoff, but somehow my fingers typed Huff when I wasn’t looking. 🙂 Thanks for bringing that to my attention; if I’m going to honor a Top Five Commenter, I want to do it right!
Gayle, glad you enjoyed the pictures. Kid and grandkid time is pretty great!
Great pictures! So glad you’re enjoying your time with your kids and grandson!
I have been out of the Smithellaneuos loop for a few weeks, but am happy to be all caught up on all things Smith. So glad you were all blessed and blessings during the holidays. May this trip around the sun be the best yet!
Lisa,
Welcome back to the Smithellaneous loop; we missed you!
What great photos! Wishing the whole Smith family a very happy, healthy New Year! Hugs to all of you.

Linda,
Hugs from Manteo to Pittsburgh!
Wow, I am honored to be among the top commenters! And that lovely blond baby boy of yours…delicious! Happy New Year to you all. May 2014 bring great joy and very little heartache.
Lesley,
Thanks for being such a faithful Smithellaneous reader/commenter; you always have something worthwhile to say. I appreciate you!
I love it! Simple pleasures for a loving family. You help remind us of innocent and inexpensive fun. The best!
Sarah,
How true is that? Simple pleasures are definitely the very best.
Love that game! We should get together and play sometime!! Lol!!
Catherine,
But only if Noah can hold the cards! 🙂
Adding to the St. Louis comments: I think Noah looks just like Meagan’s dad! 🙂
Stefanie,
Every so often I’ll catch Noah’s face in a different light or with a different expression and see all sorts of people reflected there. And yes, I can see Frank in those photos! 🙂
If we number the Noah on shoulders pix 1-4 starting at the top, in pix 1, 2 and 4, Noah and Steve have almost the same mouth expressions. DNA will tell!!!
Jan,
That’s funny–I never would have seen that but when I went back and looked again, I could see what you were talking about!
perhaps I should wait ’til tomorrow to comment, so that I can be counted for 2014….
Just think, St. Louis is your top commenting city!!!
love your goofy fellas!!!
Mrs. Pam,
St. Louis puts out some great people! So happy that some of them are Special Commetning VIP’s at Smithellaneous!
love the card playing and the last pix when all three Smith boys are smiling!
Becky,
Yes, that last pix is my favorite one, as well!
