Today is the first day I have had off from my two jobs in several weeks so I have dubbed it, “Git ‘Er Done Day.” My list is amazingly long and my house is amazingly dirty but I did want to take a moment to share three pictures of three ladies I love.
Meagan’s beloved grandpa passed away on Monday and Steve and I drove to the funeral yesterday, about 3 1/2 hours away. Although the circumstances were sad, it was a delight to see this daughter of my heart. (Nathan stayed behind because he had to work.) Meagan and her two sisters sang a hymn medley for the funeral and I can’t begin to describe what an amazing job they did. Those sisterly harmonies are the very sound of heaven.
Of course, Meagan’s mom, Sheri, was there as well–such a dear friend. I will be forever grateful that my son decided to marry the daughter of someone I was already such great friends with!
Sarah is home home for the weekend; this is a picture of her helping in the nursery for the Easter drama. My heart is always brighter when she is under our roof once more.
And as much as I would love to stay here and hang out with you all, the toilet brush is calling my name.
See you soon!
My condolences and prayers for Meagan and family.
Thank you, Kari.
They have such a great heritage and so many wonderful memories of their grandpa to hold on to. Thankful for that comfort.
Thanks, My Friend! Love you too!! To look up and see you and Steve was a ray of joy on such a sorrowful day. Thank you for that generous gift of love!
Sheri,
It filled up my heart to get to be there with you and your family last Thursday. I’m always grateful to snatch a few moments with you!
Prayers for Meagan and family. Sarah’s hair is so cute and I like it better each time I see it. Happy Resurrection Day to the Smith Family. I bought a small carpet cleaner and will try to shampoo our bedroom carpet this weekend. Too much to do but trying to let my chin heal so I am being a little lazy.
Ann,
A little lazy is good for someone who is as busy as you. Thankyou for the lovely Easter card. Bless you guys!
Happy Good Friday . Enjoy your ketchup day (catch- up day! )
Jenna,
Thanks for the ketchup wishes. Actually, midway through the day I realized I needed to mix in the work with some rest so I ended up having a half and half day. The best part of it was I never once left the house–my favorite kind of day.
My deepest sympathies to Meagan and her family in the loss of Dad Hawley. May our God of peace comfort them as they grieve.
Happy Easter to all of you!
LeeAnne,
Thank you for yourcondolences. It was wonderful to hear at the funeral just how much her grandpa was loved. Grandparents are so special!
