Well, we left for our trip at 2:30 this afternoon and guess what? We’re already back home again!
We are super speedy vacationers.
Either that or we had a breakdown. Um. Yup. That would be it. Our brake caliper froze up an hour down the road.
So we turned around and limped on home and now Steve and a mechanic from church are in the process of making the repairs. They estimate we should be back on the road at 7 pm. I tried to call the hotel in Washington to cancel for tonight since we were planning to stop enroute at a hotel due to the delay. But when we were told that we would be charged the money whether we made it in or not . . . well, we may just be sleeping in D.C. tonight after all. Just won’t get there till 1 or 2 am.
Are we having fun yet?
Gads! I thought I was the only one that had ill fated vacations! Sarah is so lucky to have a full time professional world renowned nurse…Mr. Snowy, R.N. (Renowned Nurse!!) Hope it all works out for all the Smith’s and family. (loved the pic of Snowy looking sad with sick Sarah!) Jojy
Jojy, nope, you’re not the only one! We’ve joined you in that wonderful, elite club! And yes, Renowned Nurse is a great title for Snowy, especially with all his Internet fame. 🙂
Sorry to hear of the delay. Hope you still make it and have no more car trouble. Prayers for safe travels.
Thanks, Patti. We got our repairs done and hit Washington, D.C. at midnight last night!
I hope you are back on the road soon and from now on are trouble free.
Cindy, thank you for the well wishes. Things are looking up.
Sick kid: check
Car trouble: check
Unreasonable hotel: check
Yup…typical family vacation!
Things should turn around for you soon!
Jan, like the way you look at things! We got the bad stuff over–now we’re headed for the good stuff!
Oh my word! Oh well, maybe all is uphill from here on out. Hubs says chewing crushed ice keeps him awake. Tell Steve to try it!
Crushed ice? Hmmm. That is an interesting concept. We will definitely try it1
