Thanks for your patience this week with the blog. I’ve had trouble opening it all week and it was difficult to add any posts, so I’ve just been coolin’ my heels waiting for a tech guy to give it a once over. He emailed this morning and said he thinks that things should be fixed and to give it a try. If you continue to have problems, please let me know.
Last week, Sarah and I had to go to Chesapeake. As we were getting ready to leave I remembered that there is an old red phone booth by the side of the road on the way there. It looks like it belongs on a London street and since Sarah and I are inveterate Angliophiles from way back, I told her it would be fun to stop and take a few photos in front of ye olde booth.
And of course, since we just happened to have a few new hats in our possession, we thought it would be fun to add those to the mix, too.
Here’s the booth.
and here’s the behatted girl.
Here’s my beloved, behatted girl, headed back to the car–hat in hand and a new hat memory in her heart.
Sarah really needs to do a Study Abroad trip to Europe when she is in college. The college I work for has a great program called Eurospring where they study in the UK for a few weeks and then they travel around Europe for 3 weeks. A group of 20 to 30 students do this each semester. It is expensive so most take out student loans but they have all said it was an amazing experience. I never study abroad but wish I would have. Sarah would love it and embrace it.
Rachel,
That sounds like something Sarah would absolutely love. Nathan went to Jerusalem for 5 weeks during college and is so glad he did it. We would love to do something like that for Sarah, too!
Great photos! Love the phone box!
Stefanie,
Phone box sounds sooo much for British than phone booth. I will have to use that from now on.:-)
I hope HOLLYWOOD doesn’t see today’s blog – or Sarah will be drafted as a MOVIE STAR!! 😉
Fred,
Well, they could draft her all day long but I’m not lettin’ her go! 🙂
I think it might be mandatory to have a red phone booth photo when in London.
i have one, but I wonder if I’m wearing a fancy hat…. I’ll have to go check.
Mrs. Pam,
Yes, I agree. Absolutely mandatory. And I suppose a great hat would just make it all the better. 🙂
Yay!! Now it opens just fine! So glad it’s fixed!! 🙂
Love the pictures!!
LeeAnne,
The pictures were a lot of fun to take–we got them all in about 5 minutes and were on our way!
