Snowy rode home from the doctor on his dad’s lap; he was rather loopy when he arrived.
All you moms and/or dog lovers out there know exactly what I’m saying here, “Oh baby, Snowy. It’s okay! Mama’s here!”
(I guarantee that some form of this line is used in all languages and in all countries.)
Sarah took her turn comforting Snowy AND admiring his new girdle. (Which he said he is embarrassed about wearing.)
Yep, it’s true. Snowy and I have something in common. We both wear Spanx! (Although HIS Spanx seem to be a lot better at slenderizing the back half than my Spanx. Sigh.)
The food wasn’t too interesting to him but once Snowy had drunk a little, he went outside to do his business—Spanx and all!
After he came back inside he said to tell you all thanks for the prayers and the healing thoughts. He then added that it was time for his post-surgical, Spanx-wrapped nap.
You can look at this sweet little face and know he’s tired!
So glad to have him home.
And in other news . . . .
. . . this is a picture of what it looks like a half mile from our home—news crews camped out across from Andy Griffith’s driveway.
I felt so sad this morning when I heard he was gone. It puts a whole different spin on one’s perception of a famous person when they go from just being a person you see on TV to being a person who lives just up the street from you.
I’m sad to lose a neighbor, sad to lose a legend, sad to lose an American treasure.
Your Manteo neighbors will miss you, Andy.
Glad to hear that Snowy is doing well, and that the surgery was a success! It’s hard when our furry friends don’t feel well.
Suzanne, yeah, my little fur baby takes almost as much of my mama love as my kids do! Thankfully, he is doing GREAT this morning, basically back to normal!
So glad Snowy is home, and that his surgery went well.
Thanks, Frapper! He’s feeling a lot stronger today.
So glad about Snowy! I grew up with dogs and loved them all but we have a Cairn Terrier(a blonde ToTo) and I am crazy in love with her. She is the center of our home so I know how you feel.
On the other note about Andy, many people had said that my Dad looked like him(in their younger years) and if you went into my Dad’s Barbershop, the show on TV was always Andy Griffith. It is an era gone by. He will be missed!
Deb,
Yep, “crazy in love” is a good way to describe how we feel about our dogs!
So happy about Snowy, so sad about Andy.
Deb,
Happy/sad with you.
Snowy, I see you got that poodle-thing going with one of your legs! Soooo happy to hear the good results of your surgery!!!!!!!!! But what about those teeth? Maybe Mama needs to brush them. I used to brush Lil Lucy’s teeth (she was a real poodle, about your size, but no fancy poofy legs)… she didn’t really like it, and I wasn’t diligent. She had so many teeth missing, that her tongue hung out. I thought she was adorable, but a few “friends” suggested I should enter her in an Ugly Dog Contest. Can you imagine such a thing? woof and love
Becky, I didn’t know about Andy, but when I read your post I put his “Bound for the Promised Land” cd on.
He’s always been one of my favorite actors… just such an easy going way about him.
Mrs. Pam,
Your comments always make me smile.
Good job, Snowy! My dog suggests you milk it for all it’s worth. 😉
One of the sad things about Andy Griffith passing is that the new generation of “stars” are just not people worth of admiration. Andy certainly was!
Jan,
I agree whole heartedly that the newest stars are light years away from the caliber of Andy and his show. We will miss him!
And yes, Snowy is taking your advice and milking his surgery with great results!
So glad Snowy is home recovering! And sad to hear about Andy Griffith. He’ll be missed.
Gayle,
Snowy had a bit of a rough night last night but is pretty chipper today!
So glad to hear Snowy is not joining the club! Just goes to show that God listens to all prayers… whether people or animal! Sadto hear about Andy… I grew up watching him!
Hawki053,
No, we don’t EVER want to have Snowy join our club!
