The first performance of our Easter production last night went great with a packed house and an enthusiastic response.
I had a very small crowd scene role before singing a solo. I’ve never sung barefoot before but it was sort of a fun change of pace. (And much more comfy than heels, I assure you!)
Sarah was involved in the production as part of the tech team; here she is with her cohorts. Lisa ran sound, David ran lights, Sarah ran music/video cues and Jim (in the red shirt) was the tech manager. The four of them coordinated at least 150 cues over the course of the (almost) hour-long play.
Of course, you can’t have a production without a little makeup so that your face will look natural under the stage lights.
This pertains to the women . . .
AND the men!
Steve and I believe in doing all sorts of things together and what could be more romantic than having our makeup done together? (I sincerely hope that the sight of seeing me sans makeup does not give you permanent night time terrors.)
You’d hardly even recognize him, would you?
At the end of the play Steve’s character is pushed from the top of these stairs down into the baptistery. Which fortunately, is heavily cushioned.
Wouldn’t this make a funny Christmas card? (This picture was taken before Steve’s makeup was done, so his beard wasn’t quite as dark as it was in the play.)
More later . . . gotta run!
You are such a cool family. I love hearing about all the fun and interesting things you all do together. You all seem remarkably close to each other and I bet years and years of activities like this is a big part of why this is.
Jenna,
Well, I don’t know how cool we are but we do love doing stuff together!
since he doesn’t look like Steve, he must look exactly like James.
Glad your first performance was a good one.
We had eight inches of snow yesterday, so I stayed home from church and waved a sprig of rosemary in lieu of a palm, and taped The Bible which I watched this morning.
btw, rosemary is delightfully more scented than a palm branch.
Mrs. Pam,
Well, I suppose someone could have called it Rosemary Sunday, right? I can’t imagine 8 inches of snow in late March; we Southerners would be quite overwhelmed with such an event.
I didn’t see any pictures of Steve…and who is that strange man holding your hand???? 😉
Jan,
Well, it seems I got caught holdin’ hands with James!
I would not have recogonized Steve – making the beard darker took years off – guess that is why I dye my hair. I know that all 3 of you did awesome with your part and participation in the play. Becky
Becky,
Yes, dye is our friend, isn’t it? 🙂
