I’m happy to report that the Dog of the House is doing splendidly on his new medication regimen. Pain is being kept largely at bay and he’s resting a lot. When he is awake, he is happy and ready to hang out with whichever human happens to be closest.
In many cases, that humans happens to be me. (And although I look sad in these photos, I actually just have my calm, comforting face on.)
Several times today, Snowy has positioned himself right at my feet in the optimal position (face forward; rear end backward) for being picked up so that he can be cradled and walked. In fact one time he even left behind five pieces of watermelon on his plate before coming over, assuming the Official Position and asking to be picked up.
I could just hear his thought process going on, “Let’s see. Mama or melon. Mama or melon.”
I was quite honored to be chosen over watermelon.
We’ll keep him on all the meds until at least Monday and then talk with his vet about which ones to gradually start decreasing so we can see where we are with everything. The hope is that (if this is NOT a major condition, like a tumor) the rest his body is getting from constantly fighting pain will help him to start to heal. And if it IS a major condition, we will just enjoy these extra days we have.
Snowy says to tell you that he too busy napping right now to say a lot but he thinks you Smithellaneous-ites are pretty wonderful folks!
I mentioned yesterday that I would try to get an excerpt video from Nathan and Meagan’s wedding posted today and here it is! It’s a little long-ish, so if you just want to fast forward through certain highlights that are more interesting to you than others, feel free.
I think they got about 8 hours of video altogether so I guess a thirteen minute video is not terribly long in light of all of that! (And thanks to Sarah for taking a whole bunch of video and piecing together a project that is more “bite sized.”)
Enjoy!
Nathan and Meagan’s Wedding (Video Excerpts)
As always, I enjoy anything Smithellaneous…and this wedding video was no exception…Have I also mentioned how much I enjoy weddings? and whomever did the video did an excellent job….of course the bride was clearly the star of the show…I laughed and then I cried (with joy)…I really wish I could have been there…Maybe for a anniversary celebration one year?
Blessings in Jesus,
Love all y’all from Texas
Sarah, you did a great job with this video! I could’ve watched even more!
It was so refreshing to see the joyful “oh-my-gosh” exuberance of this couple; how can I not smile and laugh with Meagan at her heart’s desire fulfilled and Nathan’s nervous sway and clenching-unclenching hand! A precious couple with the favor of the Lord upon them!
Oh, how I just LOVED the video! Meagan’s open-mouthed exuberance was so thrilling to watch, and when I saw her mom greet her post-ceremony, I found out where Meagan gets it. What a treasure Meagan is! 🙂
loved watching the wedding! they sure know how to have fun!
since I can’t hear, I was wondering if they said their own vows.
They seemed be saying alot to each other. I loved the nervous swaying,
jubilant smiles, spontaneous laughter, tear-dabbing, and victorious cheers!
a great video, Sarah.
woof and love to Snowy.. glad you chose mama over melon.
Mrs. Pam, yes, they did say their own vows, which was very special. And funny too, when Meagan forgot part of hers and had to ask for a repeat. 🙂
So glad Snowy is comfortable and you are having many, many cuddles. You can’t hide the sadness, it’s showing through.
Please kiss Snowy (again) from me.
Bec xxx
Bec, kisses for Snowy have been delivered. And hugs, too!
Oh, my – the video is wonderful – too bad Meagan wasn’t enjoying herself! What a delight she must be. Beautiful job on putting the video together, Sarah. Thank you for all your efforts. They are very much appreciated. Give that Snowy boy a little pet for me and tell him Wanda, the Greyhound, is praying because I believe they can and I firmly believe God listens!
Mary, Meagan most definitely had a big time at her wedding! Her enthusiasm and joy made us all smile! Thanks for your good wishes for your little furry family member. He’s having a good day!
I am glad Snowy is feeling better I just hate it’s because of the medication. However, if he’s his frisky, loving, puppy self and these meds are NOT harming him could he stay on them for a few more weeks if needed? Is there such thing as puppy PT?
Oh the video….beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I loved watching Megan and Nathan’s reactions and facial expressions through the entire thing. I watched it three times (and every time I hear the son, I lose it). You know, I also enjoyed watching Sarah, quietly taking everything in, watching her big brother marry the women of his dreams. It was very sweet! It’s obvious she loves him so very much.
You and Steve have raised two of the most amazing, kind, caring, respectful and compassionate children I have ever had the privilege of knowing. They truly are remarkable (and as a former teacher, I have seen a lot of children). And therefore, Becky, you and Steve must take ALL of the credit for the fine adults they are becoming/have become.
Thank you for sharing such precious and personal family memories with us, Becky, and making us feel like part of the family, always!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Much love,
Jodi
Jodi, thank you for your very sweet words about our family and our kids. Steve and I have most definitely made our share of parenting mistakes but are grateful Nathan and Sarah are growing into fine people despite it. Actually, the only “perfect” child we’ve raised is Snowy! 🙂
Loved, loved, loved the video! Too bad Meagan was so somber about it all. 😉
Jan, yes, Meagan needs to learn to express herself a little bit more. 🙂
I loved the video 😀 thanks for sharing 🙂
Trine, glad you loved it; thanks for watching!
Love seeing that sweet doggies’ face and seeing him cuddled with his mama. So happy, also, that the meds are working to keep him happy and comfortable. Now, I am going to take a few minutes and happily watch the video. Thank you for sharing.
That was a wonderful video!! Thanks for sharing 🙂 Such a cute couple and Megan’s excitement was absolutely adorable!! She reminded me of my daughter who got married last summer. She was so excited that she could hardly breathe or stand still. It made for a great video too!
LeeAnne, aren’t those wedding videos priceless? Back when Steve and I got married, wedding videos were not being done and I sort of miss having one. Of course, we would probably just watch it and laugh at all of our funny “stylish” hair, glasses and clothes.
