Two things to start: Gage’s surgery went well. His surgeon is cautiously optimistic that Gage’s finger will heal normally. Gage and Sarah are so thankful for everyone’s prayers.
Also, my sister Ruth got word that the mass on her ovary was NOT cancer.
Two big hoorays and hallelujahs.
Today Nathan and Meagan are celebrating ten years of marriage.
If you have a moment over the next couple of days, will you please leave a comment for them? Thanks for helping our family celebrate this incredible couple.
I compiled a few pictures to help commemorate the years they have known each other, stretching all the way back to when he was ten and she was eleven.
(A few of the pictures are smaller sized; they were the only copies I could find at the moment.)
I know everyone pretty much understands how I feel about Nathan–in addition to being a godly husband and father, he is a thinker, a good listener, and a generous man. He is wise, loving, compassionate, funny, a hard worker and a beloved son.
But then on top of all of that, he went and married the most delightful daughter-in-law that ever existed, a woman of Bible reading, prayer, and worship. Meagan has made me laugh a bazillion times, she is an active, compassionate listener, wise beyond her years, observant, intuitive and a fabulous mom to my grandbabies. In short, I feel like Meagan “gets” me, and I love her (and that hubby of hers) beyond words.
So here’s to today, the celebration of ten years with two amazing people.
From both the Smith family and the Smithellaneous family: happy anniversary, Nathan and Meagan!
Happy Anniversary to Nathan and Meagan! Love all the pictures of them through the years so far.
Awesome news on Gage and Ruth’s surgeries! PTL
Wendy,
I love your line “through the years . . . so far.” So much more ahead!
Hapoy Anniversary, Nate & Megan. It’s crazy to me that they have been married for 10 years. I started reading your blog/CaringBridge when my daughter was a year old. She will be 19 this year.
Jessica,
That just blows me away to hear stories like that from sweet readers like you. Your daughter goes from one year old to 19, and all these years later, you are STILL reading! I am so incredibly honored by that.
Happiest of Anniversary wishes for Nathan & Megan! The pictures you chose were wonderful – they brought such smiles from seeing all the joy in them. It doesn’t seem like 10 years have passed since they wed – but in those 10 years they have created a beautiful family. I hope you get the chance to spoil those sweet grandbabies again soon!! (And I’m thankful Gage’s surgery went well and hope he is healing)
Sue Ellen,
Steve and I are so thankful for the ten years they have had together and especially thankful that those 10 years produced 4 grand. Could there be a greater blessing?
Happy Belated Anniversary Meagan and Nate!!!
Thanks so much, Heather!
Meagan & Nathan,
Happy Anniversary to you! The photos are gorgeous, especially like the black & white, the close up of you two (love Meagan’s hair style) & all photos of the four precious little ones. I look forward to meeting your family at Manteo First Assembly one Sunday morning when you visit NC.
Gloria,
Such sweet words–thank you!
Happy (belated) anniversary to MegaNate! They truly are a beautiful couple – inside and out!
And yay for good surgeries for Gage and Ruth!
Blessings!
Suzanne,
Yes for all the yays! 🙂
Great news on the medical front for both Gage and Ruth. Answered prayers.
Happy (belated…sorry) anniversary to Nathan and Meagan!! Wishing you many, many more wonderful years together!
Leeanne,
Yes! Very thankful about Gage and Ruth. And no worries on the belatedness. 🙂 They’ll take all the happy wishes they can get.
Happy anniversary!! What fun to see the evolution of a couple, now an octet!
So happy to read Ruth’s wonderful news and Gage’s optimistic news!
Ooops! That should read, “…now a sextet.”
Jan,
Well, as long as it’s not an ocelet! 🙂
So happy to hear about the blessings of Gage, Ruth and the “Big Ten!” The pictures (as always) were wonderful. Hard to choose a fave, but Megan’s hair and earrings in the wedding photos were wonderful! Blessings to all the Smiths and the Longs!
Fred and Lucy,
Yes, Meagan was a gorgeous bride, beyond all doubt.
Blessings right back atcha! (Got your email. Will reply soon.)
Happy anniversary!!
Katrina,
And a happy anniversary it is!
Gosh it feels like I was just reading about him going off to college. And yet, look, a father with a decade of marriage under his belt! Congratulations to the beautiful couple.
PS Becky, your kids have turned out pretty darn great. Care to share any parenting wisdom for those of us still raising little ones? ❤️❤️
Ellen,
I know. It’s impossible to leave those college days were TEN years ago!
As far as advice for child-raising, I can’t say that I have anything specific beyond consistent love, affirmation, discipline, and prayer. Childrearing is such a challenge; full of joy and frustration and fulfillment and second-guessing oneself. But what a grand adventure it is.
Enjoy those little ones and enjoy the journey to adulthood. I miss those “little ones” days.
What a wonderful post full of happy news! And Happy Anniversary to Nathan and Megan! Today is my son’s and daughter-in-law’s 10th anniversary as well. You all picked a great day to get married!
Gayle,
How fun that our children share an anniversary. DEFINITELY a great day of celebration.
Whoop, whoop to the wonderful answer to prayer and those pictures – so hard to believe they have married for 10 years and those adorable grandbabies – they do warm the cockles of the heart don’t they. Happy Anniversary to Nathan and Meagan!d God’s blessings for many years to come.
Sharyn,
I’m not sure where the cockles of my heart are but they are definitely warmed! 🙂
Yippee for Gage and Deb! Prayers answered!
Happy 10th Anniversary Nathan and Meagan!! You 2 are perfect for each other and I have so enjoyed watching your relationship bloom and grow. Lord’s Blessings to you both!
Krista,
You’ve been around long enough to remember when they were both so much younger. Hard to believe they are celebrating ten years!
Wonderful medical news!!! Congratulations, Megan & Nathan on your first (of many) decades of marriage!
Guerrina,
Wonderful medical news, indeed.
And wonderful decades ahead!
Great news on Ruth and Gage!
Congratulations on 10 years of marriage to Nathan and Meagan!
Thank you, Phyllis for joining us in all our rejoicings.
Congratulations and a happy day! Love you much. ♥️
Grandma Campbell
Mom,
How fun to see your name here. Love you, too!
How to find the words? Two people whom we love, admire and adore. Happy 10th, Nathan and Meagan! 🥰🥳
Love, Aunt Deb and Uncle Randy
Randy and Deb,
And they love, admire, and adore you two, too!
You two are the cutest couple. It’s been fun watching your family growing. Hope you have many more years of happiness.
Debbie,
Cute, indeed. 🙂
Can’t wait to celebrate the NEXT decade with them.
Happy happy anniversary, and many more!
Thanks so much, Cheryl!
Congratulations on your first decade together! Wishing you many more happy, healthy and blessed years together!
Denise,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment to celebrate!
10 years and 4 babies later! Happy Anniversary Nathan and Meagan! Like Tiffany, I have been reading the blog for many years and it’s fun to think about how we watched their love blossom through your eyes and got a seat at the wedding and now enjoy pictures of the growing grandchildren. Thank you for sharing your sweet family with us!
Courtney,
It’s been quite a journey hasn’t it? Seeing them go from teenagers to parents of four. Thanks so much for sticking with our story through the years.
Happy anniversary!
Thank you, Donna! The big ten!
Happy Anniversary. Wishing you many, many more.
P.S. Meagan, you rock a short haircut?
SRW,
I agree. Meagan looks really great with her hair short. But she’s like Sarah. She can wear just about any style, which makes me just a little jealous. 🙂
Happy Anniversary Nathan and Meagan!
Jessica,
Thanks for celebrating this BIG DAY with our kids.
Happy Anniversary!! I love all the pictures… Makes me feel old though, since I remember when Nathan was with Sarah during transplant all those years ago! I wish you guys many more happy years together, and look forward to seeing more pictures of your sweet family as they grow!! Blessings to you all!!
Tiffany,
So you remember Nathan since he was about twelve. And he is about to turn 31. That is hard to believe!
