I took a (sort of slow-ish) bike ride this morning. I’m not sure if it’s the infection or the medication, but I have been feeling ever-so-tired the past couple of days.
I stopped a few times and grabbed some shots with my iPhone. There are few things I love more than early morning placidity.
The picture on the left was Monday; the picture on the right was last night. I was supposed to see a big improvement once I got on the two antibiotics but I’m not seeing much yet. (And please excuse the somber expressions; I wasn’t feeling as gloomy as I looked.) 🙂
Hoping that tomorrow will bring some signs of moving forward!
This cute young lady will be on her feet 8 hours today working at Food Lion, with no sustenance except broth and jello. When she arrives home at 4:30, she will start the Really Fun Part of the Prep. If you’ve ever had a colonoscopy, you know what I am referring to.
(Since I didn’t have any recent pictures of Sarah, I grabbed this photo from her FB page as she displayed her first purchase at Starbucks and asked if she were a real young adult now.)
She captioned this photo, “90 degrees outside. Time to wear my tea shirt.”
I love that her sense of humor is unflappable; she will need that humor to get through the next 36 hours. She’s scheduled to see the nurse at 12:30 tomorrow and then the colonoscopy will follow immediately after that. She said she isn’t half as nervous as she was last year because she knows what to expect.
As the Mama of the Patient, I probably get more tense than she does; she and I have been down many medical roads together but it never gets easier for me.
Hoping and praying for good, non-alarming results and a break from this unHappy Experience for many years. I’ll do a quick update when we get home tomorrow afternoon.
Oh my…well at least it doesn’t appear to be spreading anymore :-/
I hope it looks much better in the morning.
I will be praying for Sarah.
Jessica,
The rash is getting better and better every day; hooray!
And thanks for your Sarah prayers.
hmmmmm….i say this..yes, the spreading is slowing down so that’s good, however, if there really is no ‘improvement’ i.e. less red or edges starting to dissolve, I would make sure to be seen again before the weekend gets here. Better to be safe than sorry is my motto.
Prayers for an uneventful colonoscopy for Miss Sarah. Here’s to a great weekend coming up for both of you. I was wondering if any of you ever go swimming in the ocean? or go to the beach for the day? I live in a town just like yours and I never go to the beach, lol. Inquiring minds, you know….
Lesley,
Good advice; I did make an appointment with my doctor for Friday morning just in case I don’t see marked improvement. If it does start looking better, they said I can just call and cancel. Better safe than sorry–for SURE!
And sad to say, we rarely ever go to the beach, unless it’s in the fall and the tourists are gone and then we’ll occasionally go take a walk. Don’t know if you’ve heard on the news we’ve had several shark attacks in the past few weeks so that’s even more of a disinclination to get in the water.
Dear Becky, all my best wishes to Sarah for the endoscopy, I pray for best results.
Lovely photo’s from your bike ride, hope the rash will go soon, yes, the antibiotics will make you feel tired I believe. As somebody said, if it has stopped spreading then it is being cured!
I had a new hip last December and have felt tired ever since but was anaemic for months afterwards, trying to get my energy back! Maybe it is old age creeping up!
All best wishes, take care
Angela
Angela,
Anemia will definitely do it to you, as far as lack as energy goes. Hope you’re feeling somewhat recovered from that hip replacement.
As for my rash, I think I’m seeing a teeny bit of improvement tonight so I’m hopeful!
Praying for all three of you. Pray this will go well and years before another one. Jim has a three year window and mine is ten. We both had one last year. Praying you will be better soon. Love and hugs to all.
Ann,
Thanks so much for the prayers. Glad you and Jim won’t need another of those Happy Procedures for a little while yet.
All the best to Sarah – love her photos – she is just so pretty and funny and sweet. Prayers for both of you for quick recoveries. Sometimes “quickly” to a doctor is not as “quick” as we hope for!
Mary,
You’re right; we want instant medical results sometimes when “slow and steady” is what’s on the menu.
Praying for Sarah and good results. The scenery around you is truly amazing and you do a wonderful job of sharing with your readers. I am sure that you will see an improvement in your rash soon but I have to agree with Jan in that if it isn’t spreading that is an improvement. 🙂
Mel,
I do love the landscape around where we live; it never fails to amaze me that we can live 10 minutes from the ocean and still have all these trees! Love it.
I think you’re right that your rash hasn’t changed; it looks almost exactly the same in the two pictures. However, since it was spreading at an alarming rate perhaps the question should be, “Is it still spreading?” If not, then I’d say that’s an improvement. And yes, my glass is still half full…why do you ask?
Love, love, love all the beautiful scenery that surrounds you! Here I am, living in one of the most beautiful areas in the country, but thanks to urban sprawl, all I see are apartment buildings, stores, and TRAFFIC. Lots of traffic.
Cute us right! The photos of Sarah are knock-your-socks-off adorable.
Jan,
Glass half full thinking sounds good to me!
I’m like you–I get tired of traffic pretty fast. Such a simple gift to live in a place surrounded by nature. (With a few cars thrown in here and there.)
