I have a few more photos to share from the birthday party of the world’s most bright and charming grandson. (For those of you who read Sheri’s blog, this post will give you a little peek into the lovely place she and her family call home.)
Unlike me, Sheri is gifted in the flower-growing department.
This is her front door before the Birthday Party, Mustache-Wielding, Decorating Elves arrived.
Not even the bathroom was safe from a visitation from The ‘Stache.
The little black things sprinkled on the tablecloth were teeny, tiny mustaches. . .
and the Smash Cake that Noah (rather happily) demolished was also in the shape of a mustache.
There were even mustachioed plates!
And kazoos!
When the Smith family tried to pose for some mustache pictures, the littlest Smith took it upon himself to rid his mother of her mustache. He told her, “It just doesn’t look good on you, Mom!”
“It doesn’t enhance your amazing mama loveliness!”
Here’s an overview of where all the moustached festivities took place.
The dining room you see through the arched doors was added on to the Hawley home just this past year. The Hawleys are always having people over for one occasion or another so they put that extra space to great use.
I took this picture mainly for the view through the windows. Sheri is going to be adding drapes soon but I’m glad I got to grab a photo when the windows were still decorated only by the sky.
Nathan and Meagan were fabulous party hosts. It was so wonderful to see their joy and pride in that sweet boy of theirs.
Noah gets few sweets on a regular basis so his mom and dad had to help out a little in demonstrating just how a birthday cake is eaten.
It didn’t take him long to figure it out.
I love his face in this picture; I’m quite sure he is saying, “Oh, MY yes!”
One of the loveliest things about the Hawley home is their back yard. With three growing grand babies, that yard is an extra blessing!
Nathan uses the yard to show Noah all the different basketball moves he will need to know as he gets older.
I used the yard to walk around and adore a certain fella.
Noah uses the yard to get into his John Wayne stance and drawl, “Howdy there, Pardner.”
With all the many special things that went on during the party, the most meaningful moment for me came at the beginning when Nathan and Meagan welcomed everyone and thanked them for being an important of Noah’s life. When Meagan choked up during her speech, I choked up right along with her. It brought me so much joy to see my grandson surrounded by so much love.
When the two of them had finished speaking, they asked everyone to gather around them in the living room where Nathan put his arm around Meagan and Noah and prayed the most beautiful prayer of blessing over Noah’s life.
Such a sweet, sweet moment and one that brought even more tears to the eyes of this grandma as I was reminded that Noah will grow up underpinned by the twin blessings of prayer and love.
He will grow up always having hands to hold.
He will grow up with the sweetness of love always surrounding him.
He is just one precious (not to mention, lucky) little fella. Keep the pictures coming!
Karen,
Precious, indeed. And don’t worry. There will be plenty of pictures to follow. I can’t NOT take pictures!
Beautiful birthday family time together!
Jojy,
It really was a beautiful time and especially precious to me knowing just how fast those times pass by.
Beautiful photos of a beautiful family! So glad you were able to be there to share the joy of that special day! Noah is certainly blessed to be part of such a loving, caring family who in turn is blessed to have Noah as it’s newest member!

Linda,
Yes, you’re right; the blessing goes both ways.
Enjoyed seeing/reading more about such a special day–that Noah is beyond cute! 🙂 So glad you got to go!
love deb
Deb,
My heart was certainly torn between there and being with you all but it was a very sweet time and I’m so thankful i got to be there.
what fun! Noah has a great family with super grandfamilies, too!
Was there a particular reason to go with a mustache theme?
Mrs. Pam,
The mustache theme has something to do with a mustache pacifier they got when Noah was just a baby and the whole mustache idea just sort of stuck!
So sweet! Meagan and Nate are wonderful parents….lucky, lucky Noah!!
LeeAnne,
They really are good parents–I’ve been very proud of them as they’ve made all the adjustments that parents make and have grown into their job so well.
One lucky, blessed, adorable, mustachio little guy! I am so happy you were able to share in this wonderful day in the life of Noah.
Mary,
Mustachio little guy . . .. love that!
beyond sweet
