We don’t have Internet at home right now (our router bit the dust) so it’s a little harder to keep up to speed with replying to comments and letting you know how Snowy is doing.
We ended up not taking him to the vet today after all because as the morning went on, his coughing thing lessened a little although he’s still doing it some. Thankfully, he started using the bathroom fairly normally although he’s still drinking more than usual.
So we’re just going to keep an eye on him throughout the rest of the day and overnight and depending on whether he’s worse or better, make a decision about taking him into tomorrow. Other than the odd coughing thing, he seems very happy and energetic so I don’t think he’s feeling bad overall.
Crazy isn’t it, how we worry over our furbabies just like they’re part of the family? Thanks for those of you who left comments and expressed your concern. Snowy is loved by a whole lot of us!
Those symptoms should not be ignored. Especially at his age. He needs to see the vet and they need to run an ekg at the very least. Dogs tend to hide pain. This is a survival instict. He may seem better, but he really should get checked out. Good luck. I hope he is okay.
I’m glad Snowy is feeling better and I hope he continues to improve. 🙂

I hope Snowy is ok…
Becky, I don’t want to scare you but it could be heart failure. If it is, they can put him on medicine to drain the fluid — but you have to do it right away. I’ve lost two dogs to heart failure and am going to lose the 3rd sometime this year. the first one I had no idea and thought she just had a strange cough, by the time I got her to the vet it was too late to drain the fluid. They said had I brought her in 24 hours earlier she would have been saveable. Hugs!
Maybe he has allergies like the rest of us.
My furbabies are an integral part of my family.
Love and kisses to Snowy, tell her if she would like to recuperate in Sydney, she would be well loved and looked after 🙂

I am so sorry about Snowy not feeling well. I have been so busy at work that I have not had a chance in the last several days to check on my favorite sites. I hope and pray that he continues to feel better and that he will be “up to” writing a blog entry for us very soon. We love you, Snowy! It is so worrisome when our four-legged children are ill. We are not as equipped or experienced to handle those crisises.
