Last Sunday night we went out on a graduation photo shoot. Some of the photos were taken at the Elizabethan Gardens and a few others in a field of flowers.
In the non-Elizabethan Garden photos Sarah wore jeans but in the garden shots, she wore a lace dress and (in some of the photos), a vintage hat given to her by a dear blog friend.
Even though our day will be slightly shadowed by waiting on biopsy results, there’s not much that can dim the sunshine of that smile!

Sweet pics!! They sure grow up fast!!
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.
Stunning absolutely gorgeous photos of Sarah. I think they really showcase a young lady on the cusp of adulthood, looking forward to the future with both hope and excitement, but also trust in God. The phrase that comes to my mind is she is a girl of uncommon beauty. By this I mean that Sarah is not just a stunning young lady, but that her understanding beyond her years, gentle acceptance of who she is, her love of life, and the quiet, goodness and peace with which she lives her life also grace her face with beauty.
Becky I seem to recall a post you wrote long ago when Sarah was very sick and the future seemed uncertain. And I think you wrote about how you went to a graduation party for someone else’s daughter and how you longed to see Sarah grow up and live to celebrate her graduation and see what sort of young woman she would become. Or something like that. The desire of your heart has now come true!! Can you imagine if 10 years ago you could have looked into the future to today and seen these gorgeous photos of your beautiful grown up girl? The thing is, even back then God knew what these photos would look like and that a miracle would occur in Sarah’s life that she would live to see this beautiful day. I think he planted the dream in your heart and then carried it close to his heart all these years. You must be so ecstatic and joyful to be at this place in your lives
Congratulations again Sarah on your graduation !!
Jenna,
Thanks for reminding me of that story; I had completely forgotten about it! What a great season of life to look back at stories like that . . . and remember.
