If you want to get the whole story behind Madison’s birth, be sure to stop by her other grandma’s blog.
A few of you had asked to see pictures with Aunt Sarah so here you are!
Sarah wore a mask during her first introduction to her new niece since she’d had a bit of a sore throat that day.
So sweet to see Sarah and her brother together.
It brought back memories of when Noah was a newborn twenty months ago. Be still my heart.
Sarah was thrilled about the chance not only to meet her sweet niece but also hang out with that darling nephew of hers.
In this particular photo, both of my family members look a little worse for the wear—one in a mask, one in a wheel chair! (Steve was fully mobile; he was just looking for a convenient to park himself.)
And speaking of Steve, after I had gotten home and looked through all of my photos, I was hit with the immensely unhappy realization that I had not taken any photos of him with the new baby.
Not. Even. One.
How could that be? I mean, really? I am really beating myself up over that oversight.
However, I do have this brilliantly composed, evocative, artful shot of the back of him as he walks through the hospital parking lot with Sarah and Sheri. Does that count for anything?
And I have this photo of him at least standing NEAR the baby. Does that count?
I sure hope so. Otherwise I may be compelled to turn in my Family Photographer Badge.
While we were at the hospital last Thursday morning, waiting for Meagan and Madi to be discharged, I caught a few photos of Noah and Grandma Hawley, AKA Noni.
Like every good grandma everywhere, she had a few things in her purse suitable for the ongoing entertainment of one small and curious grandchild.
Of course, daddy was there to provide some entertainment as well.
It absolutely killed me the way Noah propped his arms up on Nathan’s head.
So very nonchalant.
When Noah wasn’t being entertained by his grandma’s purse or ferried about on his daddy’s shoulders, he was busy checking on that mysterious, tiny stranger who had so suddenly entered his life.
That beloved stranger with whom he would have to start sharing the space of his daddy’s arms.
It’s quite an adjustment but he is up to the task. He is truly one awesome big brother.
All ready for the first of many evening walks together.
I cant wait to see the years and memories unfold.
And lastly, for your viewing pleasure, here are a few more miscellaneous photos of the princess. Feel free to ooh and ahh as much as you’d like. We don’t mind.
Congratulations! 🙂
Precious baby girl. Love all the pictures.
Great pictures! Congrats on the newest addition! So sweet seeing Noah and Madi together! And Sarah and Nathan.
I love the pics with Steve. He’s in the less comfy wheelchair. He’s schlepping the bags. He’s proudly standing by his lovely wife, who’s holding beautiful Madi. He looks content, supportive, and so proud. We each have our roles, and those are his at the moment, as illustrated in the photos. And he’s clearly a grandpa – as he’s donning the Grandpa Shorts!!! In time, I imagine we may Steve with the kids listening intently to his words of wisdom, or looking under a car hood as Grandpa shows them how stuff works!
Ann,
And I love YOUR perspective of finding all the shots that DO include Steve, which makes me feel better about my overlooking the taking of any photos with him holding Madison. And speaking of “grandpa showing how stuff works,” I have a photo I’ll be posting next week where he is doing that very thing with Noah. 🙂
Gorgeous baby girl. Congratulations! And, having a penchant for Mazda Miatas myself, I like Steve’s shirt!
Great pictures Becky! She is a beauty. There can never be too many pictures. Noah gets cuter every day, if that is even possible. Madi looks as fair as he is.
God is Good!
Beautiful pictures. Think that one of Steve and you with baby will have to suffice – he only missed holding the baby by that much!!!
Ooohh and Aahhh….a thousand times over!! Such adorable little people you call your grandchildren! You are so blessed! Isn’t this grandparent thing just awesome?!?!? We have four now between the ages of 2 months and 27 months (the oldest and youngest are girls) and love every minute of it!! Keep those photos coming and the next time you are together with the other Smith family, get grandpa Steve’s photo with both kids and then frame it for him! He will love it and all will be forgiven. 😉 Oh, and never, EVER resign your family photographer position. Just sayin’. 🙂
LeeAnne,
I can’t imagine how happy, busy, and noisy your house is when all the grand kids are present. Awesome, indeed!
And yes, the next time we all get together there will be several bookoodles of pictures of Steve with the grand babies.
So glad to see photos of Aunt Sarah with Madi and Noah! She looks like a natural. Madi is absolutely stunning in all the photos, but I particularly like the one with the huge pink bow in her…um…hair. She’s a beauty, no doubt about it!
I notice that Steve and Frank can form their own club: “I didn’t make it into the photo shoot for Madi’s intro to Becky’s blog!” But they’ll both also be able to form another club: “We’re manly Godly role models for our grandchildren.”
How sweet and precious she is. Congratulations!
She is beautiful. The pictures with Noah are awesome. Keep them coming.
how about superimposing (is that the right word?) a photo of grandpa and Madi ?
love all the precious photos of your beautiful family!

Never, ever resign your position as official family photographer! What would your family (those you actually live with and know) and this blog family do? We would be forlorn. I love Madi’s hair bows. Noah’s wonderful personality shines and the ease of his manner with his family, is a testament to the love and confidence he is shown and given. What fun you have in store for you watching these two wonderful little people grow. It is so special for Nathan and Sarah to be able to watch a “carbon copy” of their childhood relationship through Noah and Madison. Still smiling.
