We called the Duke surgical department yesterday to: 1. see if there were any preliminary results available (we were told preliminary results would take 2-3 days and it has been 7 days so I’m assuming they are waiting for the final report, not just preliminary report which makes sense. Even though waiting isn’t easy.) 2. make sure they knew there was a wedding coming up…

On their trip home from the hospital last night Sarah and Gage made a special detour to pick up her wedding dress that had been on order.  It was wonderful for them to get to put away hospital stuff for a minute and focus forward on the wedding–a wedding that is racing closer by the moment.…

Sarah should be getting out today! She’s been fever-free for 48 hours and her weight is holding steady. They are waiting on a last blood count to check that her platelets are holding. As of yesterday, her platelets had gone from 40 to 110, with the help of two infusions.…
