Meagan posted on Facebook Saturday about the birthing class she and Nathan were scheduled to attend at the hospital that morning. The picture she posted of the two of them just struck me so funny. (They both have such demonstrative faces.)
Here’s the explanation behind the photo:
“We went to our baby class this morning at 8 only to find out it started at 9! So daddy took me and Noah to breakfast. Now back we go…wish us luck and lots of laughs.”
A little while later she posted again,
“So what’s even better thank being an hour early? We weren’t even on the class list!!!! We stayed anyways Oh man this has been a great start to Noah coming. lol”
At least we know Noah’s parents have good senses of humor–plus really cute faces!
Counting down the hours . . . .
I had a similar situation with a prenatal tour at the pediatrician’s office that we selected – only we were 30 minutes late. I had written down the correct time but didn’t check the calendar because I didn’t think I needed to. So we showed up 30 minutes late and sheepishly joined the group. I was thinking the whole time, “They are never going to let us have a baby because we can’t even be on time for the tour!” Alas, they did let us have the baby and the pediatrician’s office accepted us as patients. 🙂
Courtney,
Whew! Well, thankfully they were able to ascertain that you and Caleb looked like pretty upstanding citizens and they let you into the fold! 🙂 Nothing like getting off to an impressive start though, right?
Becky, this is one of the funniest stories you have done. The photo of the proud parents-to-be was priceless. As a two-time “Lamaze Dad” (who was scared to death!) – it brought back great memories for me.
Mrs Pam – your story cracked me up! SOMEDAY, you and “Mr. Pam”, and Becky and Steve, and Lucy and I need to do lunch in Manteo. I know it would be a memorable occasion! 😉
Best wishes to all for a great week.
Fred & Lucy 😉
Fred,
Loved the phrase, “Lamaze Dad.” Steve and I never got a chance to do classes so we’re glad Nathan and Meagan made it to theirs–complications notwithstanding.
And yes, a Smithellaneous Party in Manteo would be great fun!
that’s funny!
made me think of my good friend’s Easter story.
she woke up late and told her husband that they missed the early service,
so they would just have to head to the restaurant for an 11 am Brunch with her family.
they got to the the restaurant a little early, and wondered why it wasn’t set up for the brunch. asked what time the brunch started, and was told that they only have brunch on Sunday. 0kay, what’s the problem? It was actually Saturday! i thought it was even funnier realizing that her husband didn’t know what day it was!
Mrs. Pam,
The sad thing about this funny story is that I can relate!! I can truly see myself doing the very same thing. Sigh.
