It’s always amazing to me how much has to happen in preparation for any sort of big production. We’ve been doing behind-the-scenes stuff so long for our Easter Drama that it’s hard to believe we’ve finally arrived at the point where we’re going to actually perform it tonight and tomorrow night.
Here are a few photos of what things looked like leading up to the two dress rehearsals.
Last night was the final rehearsal. Our cast and crew have done an amazing job! (The black stool will not be sitting there for the actual performance; these two guys were on stage before rehearsal started running through a couple of lines.)
I haven’t posted any pictures from the resurrection scene since we want it to be a surprise for anyone who will be attending in person. But trust me when I say it will tingle your spine a hundred times over! Steve has done an amazing job of designing lighting effects and smoke for it and we will also have a beyond-words-amazing guest artist performing a huge song during it. Can’t wait to see it all come together for our first audience tonight!
In the meantime, I have plenty to do to get ready!
Snowy is doing so much better today! We’ve all noticed that he’s lost some weight over the past few days (don’t know why bronchitis would make a dog lose weight) but his coughing is so much better and he’s acting like his usual frisky self. This mama’s heart is happy!
I am excited to hear that there will hopefully be a video of the performance!! It looks awesome from the pictures!! Glad to hear that Snowy is doing better as well!! 🙂 Hope that your Easter was marvelous!!
Thanks, Tiffany. Easter was marvelous but I’m still rather happy that it’s the day after and I can take a teeny weeny breather. Ahhhh!!!
Happy to hear that Snowy is feeling better. I imagine all that coughing exerted lots of energy that melted those pounds away. Hope his appetite is okay.
Your Easter drama looks spectacular!
Mrs. Pam,
Snowy is eating pretty good although getting him to take his antibiotic is a trick. Today we put it in a little bit of banana and he loved it!
Sounds like a great production. Will there be video of the performance?!
Kristina,
We hope to post a video of it on YouTube in the next week or two. I’ll keep you posted.
So glad Snowy is doing better. Prince has not been as active since his shots yesterday. The vet said he might be a little slower for a couple of days especially with the rabies shot. The drama looks great and so wish we could be there to see it. It would be fantastic to come down tomorrow night but not sure that is possible. Anxious to hear about the surprise guest singing and see the pictures from the resurrection.
Ann,
Yeah, shots always slow Snowy down a bit too. I think they just get a little sore at the shot site.
Wish you all could make it too, but I know it’s a very long drive.
The program looks phenomenal and I can’t wait to hear all the details of the suprise scenes and guest vocalist. Also, an Easter miracle for a Christmas miracle doggie – thank you, Lord and vets.
Mary H.
Thankful for our “Easter miracle for our Christmas miracle doggie.” What a great way to put it.
This looks like it would drop me to my knees! If you tell me Josh Groban is singing, I’m on my way – how long a drive is it? lol
Guerrina,
Nope, Josh won’t be here so you can safely stay where you are! 🙂
ok…but I believe whoever your guest is will be incredible!
The performance looks incredible, wish I could be there to see it. I’m so glad snowy is feeling better as well. Enjoy your easter weekend.
Nancy,
Our first performance to a packed house last night went great. We’re looking forward to tonight!
So glad Snowy is feeling better. What a relief for the Smith family! Looking forward to seeing photos of the performances. Happy Easter!
Liz,
You can look forward to plenty of photos soon!
