Early Morning Bridge. Horses In the Mist.

January 29, 2015

I haven’t done any picture posts lately, and I thought that maybe your Thursday could use some peace and placidity.  (Those words probably mean the same thing but I just sort of like the way they flow together.)

I know I’ve posted pictures of this area before but everytime I go, it’s different. That’s one of the things I love most about photographing nature–it changes from moment to moment, presenting all different scenes and shades of beauty.

As always your photos are awesome! You know how I feel about your work…enlarge it, print it and sell it! But i am sure you are tired if hearing that.
I especially like the solitary tree and it’s reflection on the left in the 4th picture down.

Beautiful pictures. We had horses when I was growing up. I always loved the look of the steam coming off their backs so these pictures remind me of my childhood.

  6. Becky, I always love your picture posts in the area you live. They remind me of my many vacations in that lovely area. Probably my favorite beach location!

  10. There is a part of the country without snow! Yay! Beautiful pictures, Becky, and I feel warmer looking at them. Nature changes daily and I find it amazing in spite of the discomforts at times.

Sunday night in southeastern coastal Connecticut was one of the clearest night skies with the most diamond-like stars I’ve ever seen. Monday night thru Tuesday night the sky was dropping inches of snow by the hour with howling winds. The landscape changed overnight! As in “Where is the ground? Walkway and door steps? Road? Where are you?!!!” What power and majesty! (All wonderful until I had to walk out through the yard and across the street at midnight to catch the plow guy who was plowing the wrong driveway – I was a pretty scarey sight, I’m sure! Flannel bottoms, old coat, scarf over head like a babushka and no make up…wasn’t pretty.)

Today the sun shines brilliantly over a very thick blanket of snow (we won’t see the ground until maybe April, I think) and the landscape looks crisp, clean, fresh…washed.

Morning mist or wind whipped snow…always changing, always beautiful.

      Guerrina,

Although the thought of all that snow is a little overwhelming to consider, I am a little jealous of the thought of seeing what you see–the beauty of it falling, the crystal clear, pre-snow stars.

And who knows? You probably brightened up that snow plow driver’s life and gave him a little something to smile about. 🙂

Thanks for sharing such a vivid picture of the place you live; I truly enjoyed it.

Love seeing your photos-just beautiful and yes peaceful

    • Becky says:

      Patti,

When a storm whips through, that scene changes drastically, which has a beauty of its own. But I do love it in its peaceful state.

Familiar spots Becki, but I never tire of seeing them. Especially here, since you’ve captured them so beautifully!

    • Becky says:

      Melanie,

I don’t know how anyone could ever get tired of it, especially the fact that it all changes from moment to moment and day to day. God is so creative!

  17. Oooohh…So beautiful. And peaceful. What a wonderful way to start the day.
