I’m working on a little longer post (plus a Snowy video!), but wanted to just let you know that Snowy had a good night. This morning his pain meds kicked in very quickly (unlike yesterday) and he’s been having a contented, pain free doggy nap for several hours now.
And contented and pain free is a very good thing, after the trauma we’ve been through over these past three days.
More soon . .
Well the first part of the video was so hard to watch, but look at him run and bark! I am so glad he is pain free. Thats what its all about.
Do you know a study was done regarding cerebral palsy and quality of life? It was determined that a person’s perception of a good life for themselves was not determined by the extent of their CP, ie the severity of it. It was determined by the AMOUNT OF PAIN they had.
So you could have someone with severe spastic quad CP who could do nothing for themselves but had no pain, and someone with more mild CP, say only one-sided weakness, who had a lot of pain. The person with the severe CP perceives themselves as having a ‘better’ life than the person with mild CP.
Pain is so, so important. Just wanted to share.

phew, soooo happy to hear about snowy, praying over the weekend that all goes well and he continues to recover and be pain free. I will be thinking of you all, with love,
So glad to read that Snowy is pain free today. Snowy, stay calm and let your back heal. Such good news.
I’ve just been catching up with your blog. Usually I check it every day but the past couple months have been crazy busy! Reading all the posts about Snowy I have just had one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride! I can’t even imagine what y’all have been going through this past week! It’s just amazing and bewildering how much I care about your family and your dog even though I have never met any of you. The Lord definitely works in mysterious ways. Wow. It’s humbling to realize this over and over again as life goes on. Love & Hugs & Prayers & Peace to all of you wonderful Smiths!
checked first thing this morning, checked a few times more in the interim and finally-yay!- an update! And a happy one too! Glad. 🙂
Love Deb
This brought me a big smile on a slow day. 🙂
Way to go Snowy. You were first thing I thought of this morning when I woke up!
Thank God. So happy he is contented and happy and not in pain. He may be all of 6 pounds but he is mighty.
So glad to hear that Snowy is pain-free
Thanks for the update! So glad Snowy is pain-free right now. =)
