I had someone leave a comment saying they had to click on “Read More” in order to read the comments. I went and tried it and sure enough, it did make the comments show up after scrolling all the way through the post again.
A simpler way to do it is just to click on “Comments” to the right side of the post title. That takes you straight to the comment box, plus you can read everyone else’s comments.
In the meantime, I was told by a techie friend that getting rid of the “Read More” thingie will take some delving into the code. And I don’t do code delving if I can possibly help it. So I’m hoping a simpler solution will present itself. I’m also trying to figure out how to change the font color while commenting because it’s very hard to see what you’re typing.
And also? There are several dozen other little issues I’m trying to learn about but I won’t bore you with all that. You’ll just see little changes here and there as the days go by.
Okay. Time for dinner (soup and muffins on a rainy day), staff meeting and our Wednesday night church service!
Hi Becky, I have been reading your blog for about two years now. Thought I would introduce myself now that you are all excited about the new commenting portion of your blog;) I am a forty something minister’s wife (who loves her husband and his job dearly) with two little boys. I was talking about your blog with my mom one day and she asked me what it was that I liked about your blog. (not that she didn’t like it- she was just wondering ) I think its because you are a minister’s wife and have two children that have turned out well and on somedays I need reminded that it is possible. As a family we have our goofy fun too and I am beginning to wonder if that is not part of the ministery also. 🙂 I also like the way you write. example :where the glass is perpetually(almost) always (usually) atleast half full. Thanks for the encouragement to this minister’s wive. Also FYI I look forward to Wedding Wednesdays.
Teresa,
How nice to hear from another pastor’s wife! This is a “job” like no other and we need all the pastor’s wives in our lives we can get. If you’re in the ministry PLUS you have two little boys, you definitely have your hands full. But I just have to say to enjoy the busyness and chaos and dirt and little boy grime because the next thing you know, those little boys will get married and move far, far down the Interstate. Don’t ask me how I know. (Sniff.)
Thanks for introducing yourself and for being part of Smithellaneous for two years!
The Read More Tab can actually be very helpful, for instance it can clean up you homepage, if on your posts you type one paragraph, then use a read more tab, on the home page of you blog you will be able to see a few of the most recent posts instead of having to scroll down really far.
Yep, Stephen, that whole concept is something we def need to talk about. It was fun seeing your name pop up in the comments!
enjoyed the new WW photos.. bet the Raker also enjoyed all the action. Sarah did a terrific job, too. I am definitely NOT a photographer.. seems I sorta move my camera as I am clicking it. hmm.. .. I just have a cheapy digital. so this year the preschool photos (I make an album for each child) are taken by our new teacher. she posts them on Snapfish, and I get to choose the ones I want. I like that… but it seems to take forever to get them printed and mailed to me. Got the end of October right before Christmas, and somehow November didn’t get ordered….
What does all that info about HTML tags and attributes mean?
toodles
You asked what all the HTML tags and attribute mean? If you will come visit Manteo for a day or two, we can sit down and discuss it! 🙂
I just have to say that your preschool kids are very, very blessed to have you in their lives; you are a joy! (And you’re always so sweet to send Sarah those little surprise packages through the years.)
wwhhoo hoo for the photos including the sarah taken ones…i am just glad that your posts do not require the read more click. i actually stopped reading a persons blog due to all the clicking back and forth because i will admit sometimes i can get to blogs everyday and fall behind.
Becky, nice to see you’ve made your way over to the new Smithellaneous; good to hear from you!
