First of all, let me mention how much I’m loving reading the book conversations taking place in the comments area. You guys are giving me all sorts of books to search out because one is never too old to discover a new and fabulous children’s book! (And I’ve enjoyed reading the ideas for “older foks” too!)
Keep ‘em coming and also be sure to check back and see what the other Smithellaneous-ites have posted. This is so much fun!
Remember—the drawing will be on Thursday morning.
And now to today’s post . .
Recently I realized it had been a while since I had ridden down to the waterside cemetery a couple miles from our house. I’ve posted pictures from this particular spot before but the great thing about photography is that even though you’ve taken pictures of a certain place already, each time you go, the pictures are brand new all over again.
The light is altered, the sky is a different hue, the water takes its cues from the different sky, even your perspective can change . . . the bottom line is that you really can’t take the same photo twice, even of the same place. And that is just one of the many things I love about photography.
So here is a cemetery sunset . . . revisited.
Gayle, Steve and I have always loved walking through old cemeteries. They have a beauty all their own and they’re great for helping to put things into perspective. Would love to visit the one in Mobile.
the fourth picture is amazing it looks like there is light over the grave leading to heaven, it almost also looks like where the sun is the brightest, the tree branches almost look like a cross, beautiful picture indeed…..:)
I agree. But I also think the headstone almost looks transparent in the sun.
Thanks, Patti and Nancy. That’s one of my favorites!
Great images, Becky! Particularly love the sixth one. I am all for photos with dull ambiences. Eerie, a bit spooky. Perfect for my taste!
You’re an amazing photographer with a huge talent of capturing images with certain moods! And considering, that this is only a hobby of yours and you aren’t a professional makes it all the more impressing!
best wishes Nadine from Germany
Nadine, I loved your phrase, “dull ambiences.” Such an interesting way to express it.
Thanks for your compliments about my photography; that means a lot!
I love to walk through old cemeteries. My favorite is one in Mobile. Such history there. Thanks for sharing your pictures!
