On the subject of Candlelight Communions Services, I also love this post which is about our first Christmas in Manteo when Nathan was home.
Wednesday night was our annual Candlelight Communion Service which has become a special tradition in the six years we’ve been in Manteo
.Enjoy the peaceful quietude of this wonderful season of worship.
The shots without a watermark are mine; the ones taken by Jannie Kenyon (who is on your right in the photo below) have her watermark.
These are the DeHart Girls; their mom, Elizabeth, does most of our choreography. A gifted family!
My view from my perch at the grand piano.
Steve reads a different Christmas story ever year from the rocking chair. Last night, he had to show off his Happy Socks before he got started.
This is the little sister of the three girls who sang. Is she darling or what? My favorite photo of the night.
Families (sometimes comprising several generations) prayed together during the service.
Such a beautiful, beautiful night.
here is a photo of Madison with a Floridian church buddy. She is determined to make friends and spread joy where she goes. Hard to believe I will actually see that sweet little face in a few hours!
such a post…I loved the pix you loved but I also loved the one of the man in the red shirt kissing his baby on the cheek. just as you are counting down the hours I am too as I will have all 6 of my grands with me Christmas Eve. May you all & your readers have a blessed and Merry Christmas. Becky
Becky,
I noticed that same thing and loved it.
Enjoy the grands!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. So happy for you that the time is here for the grandbabies!!! Have a wonderful time!
Lesley,
The Time of the Grandbabies. Sounds like a novel. A HAPPY novel!
Still on my bucket list to be able to attend one of your church services in person! Have a joyous, wonderful, loving, cuddling, playing, laughing, smiling, contented time with the grandbabies and their parents! So happy for you! Who needs another gift than that?
Mary,
We would be utterly delighted to have you in one of our services. Keep that Bucket List handy!
Beautiful! And enjoy your special time with everyone!!
LeeAnne,
It’s so much fun being the grandma to two little ones now instead of one. I feel very official!
What beautiful pictures and the memories they represent. 3 of our grandbabies and coming in from Missouri tomorrow, so I understand your excitement. Enjoy your time making more beautiful memories.
Karen,
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. (Three times over!)
Beautiful and I love Madison’s smile. So glad they will be in NC for Christmas.
Ann,
Yes, that smile is electric! She definitely gets that from the Hawley side of the family.
As always, beautiful pictures, although you might have suggested donning sunglasses before we looked at Steve’s socks!
Enjoy those grandbabies! I have two more nights before I see my two little east coasters!
Merry Christmas to all the Smiths.
Jan,
Have a marvelous time with those two East Coasters of yours!
what a lovely service!
I think Steve’s socks might have been noticed even with his shoe on!
Mrs. Pam,
You’re right. Those socks were pretty impossible NOT to notice!
Beautiful pictures as always Becky. Almost makes me feel like I was there. As for that darling little granddaughter, I don’t think that smile could get any bigger. Can’t wait to see pictures from your Christmas. I am so excited for you to be able to spend Christmas with them. 🙂
Mel,
That smile lights up my life. Glad God created smiles!
Looks like it was a beautiful service! I’ve been going to my mom and dad’s little country church Christmas Eve candlelight services for years. This year they are coming to Overland Park so we get to go to my church’s services. I haven’t been yet, this is just my second Christmas here, but I hear it is beautiful.
Hi Phyllis, I was curious as to what church you are going to in OP, we lived in Leawood for 16 years.
Phyllis,
There is nothing quite like a candlelight service, is there? Love it.
