The Tale of the Horn

October 18, 2014

Steve has been thoroughly enjoying his new(ish) car.  When I was in Florida, he took Sarah out for a date in it and they had a great time.

The two of them also worked together on a  car video.  Steve had the idea and, along with the car, was the star of the show. Sarah did all the filming and editing.  Enjoy!

Great video. Made me laugh. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ever think of sending it to Funniest Videos? Might win.

  2. That’s awesome! And the same horn we put on our MG. Little cars need BIG horns!

    • Becky says:

      Stefanie,

Isn’t that funny that you chose the same horn Steve did? Yes, indeed, those small cars definitely need honkin’ horns! 🙂

  3. LeeAnne says:

Hilarious!! Great job you two!! 🙂

  4. Robyn says:

    Great video.

  5. Amy says:

That was absolutely hilarious, I love it. The car’s not bad either.

Awesome skit Steve & Sarah! I think you should create an entire series & continue to call yourself Smitty. We need to come up w/ a screen name for you too Sarah! Thanks for sharing! Your parishioners must love Sunday Morning Services! I’d love to find a Rabbi that would make Shabbat (& High Holiday) Services uplifting AND entertaining! I suppose I’d have to find a Temple I could afford first! Unlike a Church, you need a Membership to worship in most Synagogs & that’s INCREDIBLY expensive! In my area it’s around $5000 annually and that doesn’t include High Holiday Services which are $150-$200 per ticket, per service w/ multiple services yearly!

Hope y’all have a great rest of the weekend!

Jodi – I never knew that you all had to pay until I read in the Raleigh, NC News and Observer that they have to pay here also & like you many could not afford – I thought it was just here but I guess it is everywhere. I was so shocked and amazed to hear that

      Steve/Sarah – love the video

    • Becky says:

      Jodi,

I’m with Becky; I had no clue that there was such an expense involved in attending a Temple. I’m sad for you that you can’t attend when you want. I learned something new today!

Glad you enjoyed the video with Smitty and his sidekick.

….forgot to add – I am a big fun of Benny Hill also! Steve is very talented 🙂

  8. Lesley says:

You guys should do more videos!! It was terrific! I’m sure you could come up with more ideas, Steve 🙂

    • Becky says:

      Lesley,

Yes, I’m interested to see what that next idea might be. If it involves Steve, it will probably have something to do with cars, planes, or machinery.

  9. Barbara says:

    What a funny story! Thanks 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  10. Sharyn McDonald says:

Great job you two. Loved the different horn sounds – think he got it exactly right!

    • Becky says:

      Sharyn,

I actually didn’t even notice the original horn sounding “weird” but when he replaced it, I had to agree the second horn had a lot more character. (If a horn can have character.)

  11. Dale Tousley says:

That was hilarious, between the two of them, they are SO talented, thanks for posting that….I really, really enjoyed it, and on a related note, my son recently bought his first car, nothing like a Mazda, it was a Hyundai Accent, but he really liked everything about it, so the first time someone cuts him off, he honks at him and the horn sounded exactly like Steve’s (pre-fixing) horn, he called me and said Mom this horn is so embarrassing, people laugh at me when I honk at them! I’ll have to show him this video!

    • Becky says:

      Dale,

Isn’t it funny how the sound of a horn can be so embarrassing? You’d think car manufacturers would give a little more thought to that. 🙂 I hope your son enjoyed the video–sounds like he can really relate!

  12. CherylH says:

Just the laugh I needed today at work! Too funny! Btw, your Hubby sounds very much like Jimmy Stewart!

  13. mantiks says:

We enjoyed that! A proper horn at last–yay!

  14. Mrs. Pam says:

I have no clue what was going on, but it was fun to watch. That cap must have been quite important…. looked sorta like a newsboy’s cap.

    • Becky says:

      Mrs. Pam,

This was one of those videos where the visuals were pretty much as good as the audio. 🙂

Basically Steve was saying that the horn that came on his Miata did NOT have a good sound so he installed a new horn. While he was running back and forth between the front of the car and the driver’s seat, Sarah added some funny music and sound effects. Bottom line is that he got the horn installed that he liked.

  15. Renee says:

Hehehe love the video! Great job you two!

  16. Janet says:

Think maybe he should have used a horn with the sound effects! How fun to have these memories of just enjoying time with one another. Love Sarah’s giggle at her dad being silly.

  17. janinvan says:

What a fun first-thing-to-read-in-the-morning! Thanks, Sarah and Steve!

    • Becky says:

      Jan,

It’s always good to know we can make someone smile first thing in the morning. What better time is there to smile? 🙂

  18. Steve says:

If you listen carefully, you can hear Sarah giggle in the background. She did a great job on editing the video. Great fun.
