Beauty. Bridge.

September 25, 2013 — 6 Comments

One of the many things I love about photography is how much just a small changes in perspective can make such a big difference in a photo.

As I’ve mentioned before, I love taking pictures of the Old Manns Harbor Bridge on the north end of our island; I just got to thinking recently how very different the same bridge can look depending on lighting, time of day, and the mood of the water and the sky.

So today I want to feature the ever changing beauty of this bridge and the loveliness of the world around it.

Threads Of An Island

NOTE:  Check the comments area on Friday’s post for Sarah’s and my response to the Guess Her Age Game. It was fun!

Last Sunday morning, our drummer, David, was telling a funny story before worship team rehearsal, a story which provided him with numerous opportunities to throw in dramatic sound effects (Which he did with the greatest gusto.)

Dawgs vs. Dogs.

December 18, 2012

Roanoke Island is a perfect paradise for DAWGS because they are taken around everywhere with their owners and are highly respected members of the Roanoke Island huntin’ and fishin’ society.

And just in case you might be wondering exactly what a DAWG is, it is a canine that loves to ride in the back of a pick up truck, whether it’s 106 degrees  out or 20 degrees.  Neither wild  temperature variations or rain or snow seem to bother him because he is just so very, very happy to be out and about with his owner, perusing the town and feeling the wind blow through his furriness.

Technology and Beauty

Just to get the boring, non-beautiful stuff out of the way first, here are a few comments that I’ve gotten recently about some technical issues having to do with this site:

Detoured By A Sunset

February 10, 2012

Yesterday afternoon I went into Nags Head to run some errands for the church and get my hair cut.  I had actually grabbed my Nikon as I left because I knew I would be out there around sunset and I haven’t had a chance to take many pictures off of Roanoke Island where we live.

Well, I’m glad I thought to do the whole camera grab thing because I was about halfway home when I happened to glance to my right and see incredible loveliness.  Of course, Mr. Nikon and I had to pull over.
