One Purdy Cowgirl

March 24, 2014

So here’s the thing.

I wandered unsuspectingly into our kitchen one recent morning and found that it was inexplicably inhabited by a mysterious cowgirl.

Yep. You heard me right.

A cowgirl.

She was rustlin’ up some grub . . .

and wranglin’ herself some vittles.

I tried not to interrupt her because we all know that one does not want to get between a hungry cowgirl and the wrangling of her vittles.

However. When she had finally finished with all that rustlin’ and all that wranglin’ and had filled her knapsack with her provisions for the trail, I ventured a tentative request as to whether said cowgirl would acquiesce to a brief photo shoot before she saddled up.

She said, “Well, shore I would, pardner!”

If you happen to be wondering why Sarah chose such an unusual outfit for school, it’s because the students had been asked to dress in Western clothes to support the opening of “Oklahoma,” the play the drama group is  putting on.

As usual, I took a couple of her photos and did some fun, quick edits.

I like how she misbuttoned her sweater. Cowpeople are such slobs 🙂 What program do you use to do those quick edits? Thanks!

      Lesley,

Funny how you and Mrs. Pam both noticed the misbuttoned sweater. I didn’t even notice till Sarah pointed it out to me. Turns out she was dressing in a hurry and the sweater was missing a button. She didn’t even notice till after she’d been at school awhile. 🙂

I use an online program you can find at picmonkey.com. Many of the features are free and it’s only about $5 a month do access all the features. If you have questions about it, let me know!

the uneven buttoning gave me a chuckle!
    Sarah looks quite gorgeous!

My mother changed the words to Oh What a Beautiful Morning to
    Oh what a beautiful baby
    Oh what a beautiful girl
    oh what a beautiful baby
She sets my heart in a whirl.

or is was something like that… even in my second childhood, I’m not so good at remembering my first one.

      Mrs. Pam,

LOVE the song your mom (re)wrote for you! I wrote special songs for both my kids and I’m sure will be writing one (or two) for Noah, as well.

(See comment response to Lesley in reference to misbuttoned sweater.) 🙂
