Grandkids and a Blog Test.

February 1, 2017

Edited to add:  I’ve heard from a good number of you who have said Smithellaneous is showing up again in the email subject line so it appears that the problem is fixed. There were even a couple of you who went back through old e-mails and told me the exact day  in October the change happened. Have I ever mentioned my readers are the best?

Happy Wednesday to you!

There are two purposes to today’s post.

Grandkids

Purpose number one is to show off a picture of the grandkids that Meagan posted on Facebook last night. The caption was, “They always want to do whatever daddy is doing.  Training them young to use those sticky notes!”

Here’s a picture of Madi that Nathan took.  You can probably tell from this photo that she has plenty of personality! When we were visiting, she would have great long conversations with us although of course we had no clue what she was saying.  Not knowing any words does not in any way hamper her from expressing her many and varied opinions.

Blog Testing

Ever since I did the blog update (layout, header, etc.) in October, a few people who subscribe to email updates have said their subject lines have stopped saying Smithellaneous and are saying WordPress instead. (WordPress is the blogging content managing system I use.)

I asked a guy to help me fix that snafu and he told me last night that he thinks he got it figured out.  So if you get blog post notifications by email, would you please leave a quick comment and let me know if the title line says Smithellaneous or WordPress?

Thank you!

Great to see Smithellaneous reappearing! I have had the same problem with other WordPress blogs I follow, and their blogs haven’t got it figured out yet. Definitely not your issue alone.

  14. Shawn says:

Smithellaneous I haven’t had an email notification for quite awhile. Happy to see one today.

Mine used to say Word Press but the notification this morning said Smithellaneous. I too have almost deleted the notifications because I didn’t recognize Word Press.

The post on Monday showed “WordPress” and today it is back to Smithellaneous!

Specifically, the last Smithellaneous email showed on 10/24/2016 and the next post 10/28/2016 started showing ‘WordPress”.

  18. Love that niece of mine!

My email said Smithellaneous in the sender line.

    Sarah

  19. Donna says:

Yes mine used to say Word Press but the notification this morning said Smithellaneous. So glad you were able to get it changed because I have almost deleted the notifications because I didn’t recognize Word Press.

    Smithellaneous

  22. Nathan says:

    Smithellaneous

  23. Kelly Forrester says:

    Smithellaneous!!

  24. The email subject line says: [New Post] Grandkids and a Blog Test

Now I’m curious and need to go back through my emails to see what previous subject lines said!

    Your grandbabies are adorable. 🙂

    • Oooooh! I do see a difference, though. The “from” switched from “Smithellaneous” to “WordPress” sometime between October 24 and December 12. Now it’s back to Smithellaneous.
