Generalized Yuckiness. And Generalized Loveliness.

January 13, 2014

I truly hope that the CVS Pharmacy appreciates the fact that I have been singlehandedly keeping them in business for the past three weeks.

Ten days ago I went to the doctor for a cough, laryngitis, sort throat and Generalized Yuckiness. She said I had a virus and that it would go away on its own.

Well, after a week out of work, and after the onset of a fever, an earache, and a continued cough and continued laryngitis I took my wheezy, wobbly self off to the doctor again only to discover that my case represents a somewhat unusual scenario where something that was viral gave way to something bacterial—namely, an ear and sinus infection.

And now that I have bored you to tears with my stories of my ailments, let me switch gears to something cheery, namely this picture  I took from FB yesterday.  It was captioned with these words by Meagan:

Noah was crying so daddy built him his very first tent. Noah is in love with the tent I’m in love with his creative daddy.

With such a wacky daddy and a loving mom, Noah is definitely going to grow up with plenty of reasons to smile.

And speaking of cute, small creatures, I realized I haven’t posted a picture of Lady Summer lately.  Here she is, looking steadfastly up the stairs waiting for one of her Humans to make an appearance.

She is such a precious little dog, so loyal and loving and snugly. She has been in heaven this past week, following me from bed to chair and back to bed again, comforting me and keeping me company.  (Snowy will be pleased to know that his replacement also has excellent nursing skills.)

And lastly, as a lovely respite from my rambling tales of Generalized Yuckiness,  I’ll share some scenes of Generalized Loveliness that  I photographed in November.

Becky, LISTEN HERE, MISSY…YOU STOP BEING SICK RIGHT NOW!

OK…that should fix it. 😉 Hopefully you’re on the mend enough that you don’t need a scolding to get the germs out.

Sending “feel better” hugs to you. SO sorry you have been feeling ill for SO long. Awww….. Thinking of you. <3

    • Becky says:

      Bea,

Thanks for the hugs. Just read over your Christmas card again last night; it meant a lot to me to know that our family has meant a lot to you. 🙂

Hope you feel better soon! You are in my thoughts and prayers! It is amazing what a loving (and loved) pet can do for us! They can be the best medicine and/or nurse! Your photos are beautiful…you certainly have an eye for great photography. I agree, you should certainly enlarge, print, mat and frame some (or have it done for you) and hang them in your home…trule works of art! Loved the picture of Noah and his creative daddy…and Meagan’s loving words! Hugs to you all.

      Linda,

I know it’s said that laughter is the best medicine, but I think maybe “pets” should be substituted for “laughter.” Good medicine indeed!

Thanks for your encouragement about my photography; I truly appreciate it.

Just wanted to give you a little tip that I have. Taking the Mucinex DM is counter productive. It is an expectorant and a cough suppressor. Well, If you are taking something to help you get the junk out of your chest, why would you want that same something to have a suppressant in it so that you can’t cough up the junk. So basically, the medicine is breaking all the yucky stuff up but you are just keeping it in your lungs to breed and make more yucky stuff. It’s better to take Mucinex with just the expectorant in it so you can cough up the nasty. I know how annoying it is to cough all the time but Mucinex is amazing stuff and you may still cough but you will cough for a much shorter period of time if you can get all the junk out rather than letting it just sit there and multiply while it has a party in your lungs.

    • Lizz says:

Oh I almost forgot….I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!!!! 🙂

      • Becky says:

        Lizz,

Interesting insight into the medications. I certainly do not want junk “multiplying and having a party in my lungs.” (As you so picturesquely put it.) 🙂 I agree; Mucinex is good stuff!

Hope you are beginning to feel better. I saw the picture of Noah and his creative Daddy on my Facebook page and thought that it was the sweetest thing I had ever seen. You are right, Noah is going to grow up great with parents like he has. Looking at your pictures made me ponder, your photos are so beautiful, have you ever framed any and hung them in your home? Or given them as gifts? I had a friend who did beautiful photos and she gave me two photos on two Christmases that I cherish. Just a thought for you. If you wish to send any my way, I wouldn’t even ask you to frame them tee hee. Have a wonderful day! 🙂

    • Becky says:

      Gail,

I keep “threatening” to do something with photos but haven’t quite followed through on it. Thanks for your your little nudge in the right direction!

    • Becky says:

      Tammy,

      Missed you, too!

I thought I was good at Dropbox until I started having some trouble with it recently. I’ll have to see if I can figure it out what I’m doing wrong.

After this past couple weeks, I feel like am a true professional at resting! 🙂 It felt good to go back into work today and feel a little bit improved.

  13. Shawn says:

Hope you get to feeling better soon! I have had the same yuckyness that you have. I am beginning to think it is never going away. Keep the pictures coming, they are all so beautiful.
    Take care
    Shawn

      Shawn,

I know–I’ve heard several people say that this year’s “bug” seems to be of a very tenacious sort; it doesn’t give up easily. Hopefully you and I both are over the worst of it. Thanks for the picture comment–made me happy!

Actually the weather has been pretty pleasant recently; in the 50’s and sunny. No complaints here. Glad you enjoyed the photos; I sure love taking them!
