Brother and Sister.

June 23, 2015

I’m happily back home this morning after flying in late last night. It was such a joy to get to spend the past seven days in Florida, soaking up the sweetness of grand babies, family and friends.

These two particular people have been family and friends for a long time now.  There’s nothing quite like that lifetime bond between brother and sister.

That bond starts early and lasts long—through laughter and tears. To illustrate, here is one of my favorite pictures of Nathan and Sarah.

History has a way of repeating itself, doesn’t it?

Such dear pictures of a patient big brother and a crying baby sister who has no way of knowing just how blessed she is to be loved and cared for by the big brother in her life. (Just like her daddy and her aunt before her.)

Here are a few more brother/sister shots.

Would you like to see a bit more baby cuteness?  I hope so because we grandmas just can’t help ourselves.

Here is Madi’s darling outfit as she headed out to her first doctor’s appointment yesterday morning. (She’s squinting a little because of the sun.)

And speaking of names, here is the official breakdown of who is called what by the grand kids:

Frank and Sheri are called Noni (pronounced NON-ee) and Papa.  (Their first grandson, Spencer, came up with Noni.)

Steve and I going to be called Grandma and Grandpa. (And Noah actually said “Ganmma” a few times while I was there which made me smile like a fool.)

And lastly?  Speaking of smiling like a fool?

If this picture doesn’t make you smile, nothing will!

Many more pictures and stories come.  Thanks for your patience in waiting for the update; I have missed talking with you all.

(And Meagan, I hope you are happy that I finally got a post up. 🙂  Love you, sweet little mama!)

Beautiful! Noah is adorable and will be a wonderful big brother. I love the name lineup! I always wonder how it is figured out what all the grandparents are called. (don’t analyze that last sentence, I am sure it is grammatically incorrect) I don’t think Madi looks much like Noah did, as newborn, do you?

      Lesley,

No, I don’t see a strong resemblance between them, although it’s always a little hard to tell right off the bat. It’ll be interesting in a month or so to see who she starts to look like.

  15. Jan Reuther says:

    Such joy! Such beauty!

Thinking of the old fake captions for pictures, and looking at Picture #3 of Noah and Madi, I do believe that baby is thinking of the pacifier in her brother’s mouth, pointing to her own mouth and saying, “Here, Bro…put that right here!”

What fun they’ll have together. Again, congratulations to all of you.

Becky, what precious precious pictures of two of the greatest blessings of your life. I am so happy for you. As for me, Grandma (or Momaw as they call me) is absolutely the best job I have ever had. Blessings to all of you. They are both just beautiful!

  18. Mary H says:

MORE, MORE, MORE, please! What fun to look at this loving new little family. Noah’s hair is beautiful, along with his love for his baby sister. Yes, all the photos made me smile.
